After being a substitute teacher for the last five plus years in the public school system and teaching science to elementary children throughout all the grades, I understand how important it is to make science come alive! Educating our children and engaging their curiosity by doing science, not just reading about it, is essential. I look forward to building on the natural inquisitiveness children already possess to learn about their world!
I have had the honor of being a stay-at-home mom to my two children throughout their primary years. My son is in 7th grade and my daughter is in 9th grade. I've also had the pleasure of teaching private piano lessons to children for the last five years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Portland State University and a Master of Arts in Sociology from San Jose State University.
I have a special interest in incorporating lessons on green energy, composting and reducing our carbon footprint on our planet, as well as pondering the wonder of our solar system. I look forward to experiencing science with your children!
